just want to say that the SubSwara set in Entheon felt most like what I enjoyed hearing in that dome. and the set with Haj and Blacklight over at 2:00 and E was absolutely beautiful. Blacklight's freestylin' r&b was soooo good. I am very glad that Sefirah hipped me to that set. Those two consecutive sets were among the musical highlights of my week.

as the music scene at BM continues to get bigger and more hyped than ever, it is a real delight to find these little pockets of juiciness that feel cozy and beautiful. i actually wish Entheon had more of that vibe and less of the full blown party vibe. I was super psyched by what I heard SubSwara playing in there.

thanks!

hope everyone's week was epic and lacking in tragedy.

Yp Shady, thanks for coming through to Entheon. It was probably one of our favorite shows there. Amazing considered the relatively harrowing thing that went down right before our set. We wondered if the show would even happen but Village championed through it.

must've missed the harrowing thing. weather or something else?

your set was golden. one of the musical highlights of my week, matched only by the amazing vocals that blacklight delivered over haj's beats that same night.

i really wished that entheon had more sets like the subswara set. for the most part i felt the entheon sets lacked a distinct character and just sounded the same as the rest of the big dance scenes. last year alex and alyson grey really helped create a vibe in the space that was felt throughout the place. there was still plenty of amazing art and great music, but the vibe of the music didn't always seem to match the art or the whole concept of an "entheocentric" shrine. the subswara set seemed to do just that.

Well said, Shady. Nothing against the music getting bigger, bolder, or more pervasive - but this year it seemed a lot of folks were more concerned with quantity rather than quality, instead of the other way around. Cheers and thanks to Sub Swara for focusing on quality, their performance at the Temple Of Breaks was both jaw-dropping and heart-stopping, all at once.
