Hola NYC peeps,

I'm going to be in NY for the holidaze and I'm looking for the good times. Can you tell me please where to find the events with the fun?

About me: Born and raised in the Village, now SF-based DJ, event producer, photographer, grad student in psych. I am friendly and have fully functional ankles. In all likelihood I know people you know.

Thought I'd give an update. So far I've found two events that look pretty damn interesting, in addition to the ones recommended above:

This O' Death "goth-country" show looks interesting and comes recommended:

and this too comes recommended from a friend, though it's unclear where it's happening this year. Might be the most interesting thing I've found so far. I sent an email to the organizer trying to find out more:

there's an alt-xmas [as opposed to goth-country] show called Bonnie
Pipkin Presents Christmas Five on fri21dec. i haven't been able to
find much info on exactly what's happening, but here's a description
of last year's event. i know the date of this year's version, but it
might be at a different place, different description, etc.

    Bonnie Pipkin Presents: Christmas IV

Christmas is what this ragtag theater crew does best. This year will
be a smorgasboard of wintry performances -- a cozy holiday party
featuring the Williamsburg/Greenpoint Community Orchestra, Dave Treut
and the Bicameral Bubble (jazz inspired performance) interspersed with
chilling winter tales. Live With Animals will be transformed into a
winter wonderland with help of artist Haley Hughes and will have such
things set up as a present making station and a write letters to Santa
station. And of course, all the holiday sweets, treats, and warm
    alcoholic beverages your heart desires.

    Live With Animals
    210 Kent Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
    7-11p; $5 definitely not mandatory

ferinstance, you know my friend stephanie heald who's been one of my closest friends for the past twenty years...

and you were responsible for mailing me a letter i'd written to myself on the playa in '05 as new orleans was going underwater. you approached a group of us on the monday following the burn (i think stephanie and her housemate bobbie were with me) at center cafe after the playa had mostly cleared and asked if we wanted to pen letters to ourselves that you then mailed to us six months later. it was a very cool experience... thanks again...
